Another fun cozy mystery read! Author Carole Bugge (AKA suspense/ thriller author C. E. Lawrence) has done a great job mixing an old-fashioned "who-dunit" with the more current trend of unusual sleuths. In this novel's case, she has a 13 yr. old girl helping the adults follow the clues to figure out who the killer is. I liked that the detectives involved were not characterized as bumbling idiots who needed the help like some mysteries do. I really enjoyed the storyline involving a New England inn location during Thanksgiving snowy weather because it allowed the author to describe some interesting character combinations and related issues. I especially enjoyed the idea of a secret drawer, in each room at the inn, chock-full of letters to peruse and enjoy. I think it would be a fun way to spend an afternoon or evening reading and discussing them like the characters did. While I had figured out the killer by the book's end, I did not guess all the reasons.

This was such a fun mystery!!! I love the Meredith character so much. The characters are all a little sinister, the descriptions are beautiful and scenic, and it takes place at a snowed-in New England inn - what more could you ask for in a cozy?
